HELD BY WATER
2025

Photographed by Lara Gilks
Held by Water began with a series of printed photographs of water. These works served as a visual anchor during a period of personal uncertainty with a loved one in fragile health.

Seeking transformation, I returned the prints to their source  - submerging  them in water and allowing time, chance and natural forces to reshape their surfaces. The once crisp images stained, eroded, and reformed creating new and unpredictable configurations.

The altered images speak to the tension between fragility and endurance, and to the possibility of renewal found within surrender. The work contemplates impermanence, memory, and the quiet strength that surfaces through acts of letting go.
